v-innovate Technologies provides an advanced technology platform, including high-performance liquid chromatography/gas chromatography technologies combined with mass-spectrometric technique, to accurately and efficiently analyze and quantify proline content in plants and annimals. This high-throughput approach is helpful to further explore the applications of L-histidine in annimal and plant development.

Overview

Histidine (His) is considered an essential amino acid for humans. L-histidine is a semi-essential amino acid, which is especially important for the growth of infants and animals. Mainly found in bananas, grapes, meat, poultry, milk, dairy products and green vegetables. It is often used as a nutritional fortifier and an important component in amino acid infusion and compound amino acid preparations. In the field of medicine, it can be used as biochemical reagents and medicaments for the treatment of heart disease, anemia, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. In animals, L-histidine can improve animal performance, increase muscle carnosine content, and enhance the body’s antioxidant capacity. Although L-histidine plays an important role in human body and animal body weight, it is used in plant cells or animals. The role of different growth conditions in cells is poorly understood. Fortunately, high performance liquid chromatography or gas chromatography can be used to detect and quantify specific amino acids based on their physical and chemical properties. By combining with mass spectrometry, specific amino acids such as L-histidine in different plant or animal samples can be effectively determined.
