v-innovate Technologies provides one-stop large molecule mass spectrometry (MS) services covering a wide variety of plant targeted metabolomics service. Our flavonols analysis services use HPLC-MS/MS technologies to deliver high resolution and reliable identification and quantification of flavonols.
Flavonols refer to compounds containing 2-phenyl-3-hydroxyl (or oxygen-substituted) benzo-pyranone (2-phenyl-3-hydroxyl monochromone), which are the most abundant and widely distributed flavonoid compounds. One of the simplest flavonols is 7-monohydroxy flavonols. The only molecule that contains chlorine-substituted flavonols is chlorflavanin, which has antifungal activity. The most oxygen-substituted flavonols is digicitrin. Quercetin is the most widely distributed and common flavonols in the plant kingdom. Rutin is the most common flavonols glycoside compound. 6-C-β-D-glucosylquercetin is one of the few flavonol glycosides found. Flavonols can modulate the body's responsiveness to a number of compounds, including allergens, viruses, and carcinogens. Flavonols have anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties, and can also improve the immune system function of the body. Mass spectrometry is a sensitive analytical technique that enables detection, identification and quantification of a variety of flavonols by measuring their mass and characterizing their chemical structure, even at low abundance. MS instruments combine with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to effectively separate organic molecules from complex samples.
Since different tissues have different matrix properties, v-innovate Technologies has developed multiple novel sample preparation techniques. Our services allow the profiling of various types of flavonols, including rutin, quercetin, etc.
